Specialty coffee cooperative from Minas Gerais with a strong focus on relationships and impact.
Why best SanCup matters
A Tribute to Quality, Community, and Innovation
Best SanCup is our way of celebrating excellence, not just in cup score, but in care, story, and transparency.
The auction showcases coffees from both our long-time members and new smallholder voices.
It’s a chance for you to discover what makes our region special, and directly support the producers who make it possible.
About the competition
Judged by the world, loved by all
Each harvest, Sancoffee launches the best SanCup — a competition that celebrates the finest coffees from Campo das Vertentes. It's a moment of pride and recognition for producers across the region.
The competition unfolds in two phases: a national round judged by Brazilian experts, followed by an international panel of cuppers from over 20 countries. This global perspective ensures that the winning coffees meet the highest standards of excellence and flavor.
Producers submit their best lots
Over 60 coffee samples are submitted by cooperative members, ranging from small-scale growers to seasoned producers. Each lot reflects unique terroirs and processing methods.
Brazilian experts evaluate
A panel of national judges evaluates all entries, selecting the top 15 coffees to move forward. These represent the best of natural, pulped, and fermented processes.
International jury
Judges from 20+ countries taste and score the selected lots. Their evaluations determine the final rankings and category winners.
Winners & auction
On November 6th, the winners are announced. Then, on November 26th, the top 15 lots are offered in an exclusive online auction — giving buyers worldwide the chance to secure these exceptional coffees.
About Sancoffee
Rooted in community, growing with purpose
Sancoffee was founded in 2000 by a group of forward-thinking producers in Campo das Vertentes, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Today, we are a cooperative of 20 member farms and work closely with over 500 smallholder partners across the region.
Our business model is based on empowering growers, so that they are able to produce higher quality in a consistent and responsible manner. This way, we can focus on long term relationships to create prosperity, promote a positive impact in our communities, and build a sustainable future together to keep this cycle moving.
Each coffee we export carries the care of a family, the richness of our terroir, and the spirit of a community that believes in doing things the right way.
What we stand for
More than a cooperative - it's a platform for positive change
Our coffees are produced using sustainable practices, and we are committed to social and environmental progress through projects like:
- Nascentes: Promoting leadership and visibility for women producers
- Beyond Borders: Supporting smallholder access to global markets
- Bio Recovery & Carbon Projects: Protecting and restoring native forests
- Roots Program: Inspiring the next generation of producers
In 2019, we became a B Corp, and in 2024, we proudly received the SCA Sustainability Award.
